Human Papillomavirus Screening and Management Recommendations Women 21 to under 25 Years of Age Algorithm
Human papillomavirus (HPV) is the most common sexually transmitted viral infection. Some types of HPV are high risk and can cause cervical cancer. Screening options for the prevention and early detection of cervical cancer depends on age of individual and includes cytology, cotesting, and primary high risk HPV (hrHPV) testing. For women 21 to 25, screening by cytology every 3 years is recommended.
