Human Papillomavirus Screening and Management Recommendations Women 25 to under 30 Years of Age Algorithm
Human papillomavirus (HPV) is the most common sexually transmitted viral infection. Some types of HPV are high risk and can cause cervical cancer. Screening options for the prevention and early detection of cervical cancer depends on age of individual and includes cytology, cotesting, and primary high risk HPV (hrHPV) testing. For women 25 to 30, two recommended screening options are available: primary hrHPV testing followed by cytology or cytology alone every 3 years.
