Human Papillomavirus Screening and Management Recommendations Women 30-65 Years of Age Algorithm

Human papillomavirus (HPV) is the most common sexually transmitted viral infection. Some types of HPV are high risk and can cause cervical cancer. Screening options for the prevention and early detection of cervical cancer depends on age of individual and includes cytology, cotesting, and primary high risk HPV (hrHPV) testing. For women 30 to 65, either of the three screening options is appropriate.
