Antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) is an autoimmune disorder characterized by vascular thrombosis, pregnancy complications and persistently positive tests for antiphospholipid protein (aPL) antibodies. An initial workup includes testing for antibodies common to APS, including lupus anticoagulant (LA) activity, anticardiolipin (aCL) antibodies, and anti-beta-2 glycoprotein 1 antibodies.
